The General Committee, Players, Members and Staff of Downpatrick Cricket Club wish to express their sincere sadness on the news of the death of Mr Ivan Reid. Ivan was a stalwart of Downpatrick Cricket Club and committed countless years of service to preparing and maintaining the fine playing facilities at “The Meadow”. Ivan was one who shun the limelight but always found time to tell a yarn or two to the colleagues and friends he held so dear. 

Ivan will be sadly missed by everyone at Downpatrick Cricket Club and wider cricketing circles. 

Ivan passed away on Monday 9th January 2012.

The Funeral service will take place at Bright Parish Church on Wednesday 11th January 2012 at 14:00.

The thoughts of everyone at Downpatrick Cricket Club are with Maureen and the family at this sad time.

Downpatrick Cricket Club will be holding its' Annual General Meeting on Thursday 27th October in the main lounge at The Meadow. Proceedings get underway at 7:30pm sharp. The Club Committee requests that all members attend if possible. For any further information, please contact Club Chairman David Rea on 07766 477955.

The annual end of season awards dinner was held at Downpatrick Cricket Club on Saturday 8th October, with many club members attending for what turned out to be a memorable night. Award winners on the night were:

1st XI Player of the Year:        James Magowan
2nd XI Player of the Year:       Aaron Ferris
3rd XI Player of the Year:        James Ferguson
Young Player of the Year:       Ricky Gill
Club Person of the Year:        Keith Jones

Congratulations to all award winners, and a big thank you to all who supported Downpatrick Cricket Club this season.

A very respectable third placed finish was guaranteed for Downpatrick after two victories this past weekend in the NCU Ulster Bank League Section 1. Match reports for these important victories are available here.

Downpatrick Cricket Club are celebrating after their 1st XI were crowned Ulster Shield Champions after a hard fought victory over NCU Ulster Bank League Section 1 rivals Derriaghy this past Sunday.
